Symphyotrichum cordifolium, also known as blue wood aster is a perennial wildflower native to Michigan. Plant reaches 3-4 feet tall and flowers from September to November with a blue/purple blossom. It prefers partial sun to full shade, medium to dry soil and will grow in clay, loam or sand.
