We will now be hosting the Native Plant Expo & Marketplace at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds: 20501 Old US-12 Hwy. Chelsea, MI 48118 While we had planned for the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, where we've hosted the event in 2021 and 2019, there were booking issues. Sales UPDATE: Some Tree & Shrub Inventory increased!
Posted by Doug Reith on
Hey loyal WCCD Spring Sale customers, We've seen early sales double this year, and we're doing our best to meet demand. We were able to request more tree stock for some species, but most are already sold out from our suppliers. We've added the following inventory for these species: 150 Ninebark 200 Northern Pecan 150 Swamp Loosestrife 100 Redbud So, if you saw them sold out, we have some more before they sell out again! Otherwise, if it shows as sold out, consider that the final for our Spring Sale. Thanks for supporting Conservation in Washtenaw and beyond!
Bitternut Hickory - size & price reduction!
Posted by Doug Reith on

Bitternut Hickory, Carya cordiformis, is a large deciduous tree, closely related to the pecan but without edible nuts. Bitternut hickory seeds are eaten by rabbits, and both its seeds and bark are eaten by other wildlife. We originally advertised these as 18-24" for $8 each, but the nursery had to downgrade their size, so they will be 12-18" and $6 each. Bulk pricing is also adjusted. If you already purchased Bitternut Hickory, a refund has been submitted to notify you of the change in size and price.
